Vegas Uncork'd Presented by Bon Appetit Grand Tasting Serves a Uniquely Vegas Mix of Cuisine, Spirits, Entertainment
LAS VEGAS (April 8, 2010) – Vegas Uncork’d Presented by Bon Appétit, the four-day culinary extravaganza sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and held each Mother’s Day weekend, will present a Grand Tasting boasting more restaurants, more vintners and a more spectacular setting—the newly expanded Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesars Palace—than ever before.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 60 celebrated chefs will gather poolside at the Garden of the Gods to offer imaginative culinary samplings from the city’s most lauded restaurants, while 30-plus wines from vintners around the world will be poured. Additionally, a dozen top chefs will be on hand to inscribe their newest cookbooks to the delight of their foodie fans.
This year, 18 area properties will be represented at the Grand Tasting, including Vegas Uncork’d anchor resort partners Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and Wynn/Encore. Joining the Grand Tasting lineup for the first time are restaurants from The Venetian/The Palazzo and CityCenter. (A complete roster of confirmed participating chefs and restaurants may be found at the end of this release.)
Garden of the Gods, the iconic swimming and lounging oasis that serves as the backdrop for the Grand Tasting, has been completely redesigned. This “destination within a destination” features eight distinctive swimming pools with lavish amenities; the new Fortuna pool with its 18-foot waterfall, 44 new private cabanas, hundreds of new vibrant blue deck chairs, plush daybeds and loveseat-inspired scoop chairs. This luxurious new environment allows for the incorporation of several intimate areas within the Grand Tasting designed to enhance guests’ overall enjoyment of the event. These include the PURE lounge at the Venus Pool, the Patron Cocktail Lounge and the Infiniti sushi bar.
“No other city offers such a concentration of native culinary talent gathered together in one place, nor does anyone offer a backdrop for an evening of epicurean adventure more exhilarating than Las Vegas,” said Rob O’Keefe, executive director, Vegas Uncork’d Presented by Bon Appétit. “As one of our steadfast partners from the beginning, Caesars continuously seeks to improve upon its successes. Its redesign of the Garden of the Gods pool complex will most certainly offer an incomparable Grand Tasting experience for our guests.”
