Three Square
Official Charity Partner for Vegas Uncork'd 2010
Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank, a central location where donated and rescued food is collected and distributed to more than 260 Agency Partners, 180 schools and multiple after-school and summer food service sites. Since Three Square’s opening two years ago, they have provided 28 million pounds of food - the equivalent of 21.8 million meals - to the community. In addition, they facilitate and administer childhood and senior nutrition programs and engage in advocacy, research and community outreach. A national model project, Three Square is a member of the Feeding America network of food banks.
Vegas Uncork’d has chosen Three Square as our Charity Partner for a 2nd year. In 2009, Vegas Uncork’d chefs gathered at Three Square to help pack 1,256 BackPack bags of kid-friendly, nutritious food for Clark County School District students. The “BackPack for Kids” Program provides bags of weekend food to some of the area’s most food fragile children.
